In the middle of 2010, Electronics giant Sharp
announced it would spend £30m on expanding
its solar panel facility in Wrexham.
We at Adelphi Automation can proudly say
that we were successful in the design,
development and commissioning of their
new production lines...

Sharp also stated that it plans to double production of solar cell modules at the factory based in Llay, where approximately 750 staff are currently employed.

The solar panel factory only opened in 2004 but already the Japanese firm says it needs to expand production capacity to meet the ever-growing global demand for solar cell modules.

As part of the solution we worked closely with Sharp to design and develop a world class solar panel facility. This included electrical design, PLC development, HMI development and process management. We were also involved in concepts and throughput calculations, waste reductions initiatives, and consulted on manufacturing refinements and process optimization.

If you would like Adelphi Automation to be
involved with your next project, we’d love
to hear from you..
